This week was loud. It was hot.  It was colorful and it was interesting. But it was so  good!

We started off the week by attending a missionary fireside with special guest, David Archuleta. He sang in English, Spanish, and Chinese. We just happened to be sitting in the very front row so when he was finished singing my companion was the first person to run up to him and grab him so that she could take a picture with him. 

On Wednesday our investigator Adam took a three hour train ride just to buy us a colorful box of assorted Krispy Kreme donuts.

We also learned that a handful of our investigators dance the Salsa, Flamenco, Irish Step dance and we even have a pole dancer! (He's 47, lives with his mom, has a pole in his living room, he's a funny story)  They are a hoot. 

On Saturday night we were finding by the Night Market in our area and we happened to run into members from another part of Taiwan. They wanted to buy us dinner so we walked into the closest place we could get food. It was a bar owned by three french guys. We sat down, ordered our food and tried to have some small talk though a bit difficult to do over the loud (english) club music and the flashing lights. While we were eating one of the french guys came to our table with a tower of shot glasses and a bottle of alcohol. He started pouring and told us "this is from my heart". Well, we thanked him for his hospitality and told him that we don't drink alcohol but juice would suffice. To which his response was, " it's juice, it's just juice, i mean it tastes like juice, it's only 40%." Funny guy. Anyway, 10 minutes and a business exchange later (He gave me his name, number and set up another time to meet and I gave him our number and a lesson one tract) and he became a new investigator and I got posted on his bar's facebook page.

So yeah, that was just a little snippet of my week. There is never a dull moment on a mission. It is definitely not the easiest thing. It is A LOT of work but it is so much fun.

Seriously though, attitude plays a huge role ESPECIALLY on a mission. and my mission has been FLIPPIN FABULOUS! No matter the weather, no matter how bad stinky tofu smells, and no matter how many times our investigators stand us up, everyday always seems to be happier than the next.

One of those happy things was last p-day. WE WENT TO THE BEACH! You can imagine how STOKED I was to be at the beach again. Granted, I couldn't swim but it was still so great!

Another happy thing was that on Tuesday night, while doing our Daily Planning Session, we realized that our entire day Wednesday was booked full of lessons (ALWAYS a good thing for a missionary).  However, in the short time span of about 12 hours, from the time we went to bed at 10:30pm to the end of studies the following morning (about 11:00am) ALL of our planned lessons managed to magically get cancelled.  From lessons alllll day, to finding allllll day...it was a HUGE blessing! We found two new SOLID investigators, were able to have lunch and dinner with former investigators (who, from out of the blue, just so happened to call us that day) AND we found a FAMILY!! A family to teach is like gold in the field. Families are so precious. 

We had temple tours and exchanges this past week. I was once again companions with Sister Westover. During our exchange we decided to try some creative finding. Her favorite way to find is to go ice cream finding. I don't know why it doesn't work very well with other foods but whenever we go ice cream finding we always find a new investigator.
