"Little growth grows in a comfort zone, little comfort resides in a growth zone.."This week was a tad bit different than previous weeks. This week was truly a special one. My companion and I worked hard, teaching lessons and finding people to talk to. We also helped prepare one of our investigators for his baptism! Chen Guan Fu, a 24 year old college student whom we found while finding. We knocked on his door and he let us in...(#GOLDENINVESTIGATOR) And after 4 weeks he gets baptized! Chen Guan Fu is the perfect example of faith and works. He is always trying to do the right thing.
Chen Guan Fu My companion and I were also given the opportunity to be at the temple all day Saturday (4/3/2016). We were "temple tour sisters" for the day. We gave people tours of the grounds and inside the chapel and talked to them about the purpose of temples. We gave a tour to a family and we talked about Eternal Families and they set up with the missionaries right then and there. On Sunday we had a fireside with all the missionaries, new members, recent converts and investigators. It was amazing! Testimonies were shared, missionaries performed musical numbers, and the spirit was felt so strongly throughout the room. What made me happy was seeing how touched Chen Guan Fu was at just the atmosphere of it all. After the fireside I was reunited with my "family"! I got to see my district from the MTC!! (If you have seen the Lion King, the part where Nala and Simba see each other again after a looong time, it felt like that. ) I do not know how to describe it but the love that I have for my MTC family....it is something special. Families are so special. Looking back on the week I realize that we can't go through this life without them. Life is so much better, happier, with our families. And I am so blessed to know that I can be with them forever. During temple tours I took a moment to look at the picture of the celestial room and it made me remember when I got my endowments. I walked through the veil into the celestial room and I was welcomed with hugs and kisses by my family. My parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, friends, they all were there, dressed in white. It made me so happy. THAT is what it is going to be like after this life. Our families, will be happy. Our families will be together. I am so grateful for my ohana back home. I am so grateful for my MTC family and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity that I have been given to share this with the families in Taiwan.
My mission belongs to the Lord. With all my heart I give my energy and my time to the Master because I love Him. Therefore I am going to look at everyday not as mine but as His. And I will treat each minute of His time with respect and focus and the dedication it deserves.--Russell M. Ballard
