We started this week off by taking a trip to the Doctor's. We got there , I hopped onto the bed, the doctor walks in, takes a look at my leg and the first thing he says is, "We have to cut it". It wasn't the most pleasant feeling but it certainly was a fantastic way to start off the week!
(The doctor cut off the infected parts of skin, not my entire leg...)Half of Thursday and all of Friday was spent indoors due to a typhoon. During this time we were able to call through our area books and prepare for our lovely Xie Dixiong to be baptized.I met Xie Dixiong 6 weeks ago, on the first day I got to Shilin. We met him while street contacting. He is 18 years old, recently graduated from high school and has always wanted to be a better person. We taught him all the missionary lessons in a week. He came to church every week, attended all the ward activities, FHE, Institute. He was seriously a GOLDEN investigator, but he never set a baptismal date. He said he didnt have a testimony. Day after day we met with him, reading church magazines, sharing videos, browsing the church websites, even took him on a temple tour. Week 5 of teaching him and he still said he didnt have a testimony. My companion as ready to give him a break. I was not. I knew he had a testimony, he just needed to realize so. This past Wednesday I asked the elders of they could help us review the baptismal interview questions with him. After the lesson, he says,"I have a testimony, I want to get baptized." Xie Dixiong got baptized this past Sunday right before sacrament meeting. It was so special. The ward came to the chapel early to be there for the baptism and during sacrament meeting they were able to witness him get confirmed a member of this church. YEAH!!
Xie Dixiong So this was just a few things that made this week so incredibly amazing! (And the fact that we are going to the temple today and transfers is tomorow). I LOVE my mission. I LOVE Taiwan. I LOVE this gospel!-Sister Goo"If we give our heart to God, if we Love the Lord Jesus Christ, if we do the best we can to love the gospel, then tomorrow - and every other day - is ultimately going to be magnificent, even if we dont always recognize as such. Why? Because our Heavenly Father wants it to be! He wants to bless us. A rewarding, abundant, and eternal life is the very object of His merciful plan for his children!"-Jeffery R. Holland
My mission belongs to the Lord. With all my heart I give my energy and my time to the Master because I love Him. Therefore I am going to look at everyday not as mine but as His. And I will treat each minute of His time with respect and focus and the dedication it deserves.--Russell M. Ballard
