On Thursday, June 2 at 6:00am, with my suitcases in hand, I hopped on the Metro and headed to my new area, Shilin.
Shilin is North of Taipei, There are not nearly as many people or cars here as there were in Yonghe/Zhonghe. But for some reason, we tract into a lot of Japanese people. It is a more relaxed atmosphere. More trees, more blue skies, I like it.My new companion is Sister Li. Lee jie mei. She is from Taiwan, she does not speak English but her Chinese is flawless! She is 32. Graduated from College with a degree in Ancient Traditional Music and loves to eat good food and rap. This area currently has 2 investigators, a few formers and a TON of potentials. We have gone finding, all day, every day, since the day i got here. Our goal this transfer is to help this area see some baptisms. It has been far too long since this area has had one. I know that when we work hard and do all that we can to find the people that God has prepared, he notices and blesses us for our efforts. I never would have thought that walking around, knocking on doors, talking to people on the street for 8+ hours would be an enjoyable time, but it IS! You get a rush when you are able to find people that are willing to listen. In my opinion, the most important thing in this work is faith and charity. We have to have faith that God, through us, is able to do all things. We have to have charity and love for this work and for everyone we meet! Without faith, we can not testify, and without charity, we can not serve.I Love this work, I Love my mission, I Love Taiwanese people, I Love you all and I Love Taiwan! Thank you Ohana for all of your love. I hope everyone has a blessed week!-Sister Goo 😊
My mission belongs to the Lord. With all my heart I give my energy and my time to the Master because I love Him. Therefore I am going to look at everyday not as mine but as His. And I will treat each minute of His time with respect and focus and the dedication it deserves.--Russell M. Ballard
