WEEKLY UPDATE -- My companion has a cyst...

Alright fam, I know that Thanksgiving was probably pretty great but don't forget that the 15 pounds that you put on with all the kalua pork, rice, and Ted's pie is not going to come off magically...

Thanksgiving is not celebrated in Taiwan. However, my companion and I were fortunate enough to be in a ward where the members knew what Thanksgiving was, are extremely generous and invited us to their house for Thanksgiving dinner. Now that Thanksgiving is over, guess what?!  It is OFFICIALLY ALMOST CHRISTMAS!!😆

At Chiang Kai Shek Memorial with Sister Lee and Sister Wong.
This week we were able to visit A LOT of members and LA's (LESS ACTIVE). I probably shouldn't be saying this but it's pretty funny. Besides the fact that a big portion of our LA's are LA because they stopped doing the simple things like reading, praying and going to church, another reason that MOST of our Less-Active women are less-active is because someone in our ward said something that they didn't like or they didn't agree with. We have even come across some that stopped coming to church because someone in the relief society called her "fat"..... 😰We all have our imperfections, and I would hope that being called fat would not be a reason as to why one would stop coming to church, but please remember we should all try to be a bit more Christlike....

Other than that, the families in our ward are pretty sick. Besides my best friends (Cynthia and Allen!) There is a Ding Family that lives about a 45 minute bike ride away from our house. The Dad is a farmer and makes his own Soybean yogurt and their 13 year old son plays the piano by ear and composes his own music. There is a Wang Family who has a japanese akita, The mom is ALWAYS baking, the dad is a professional basketball player, and their youngest son is the cutest member in our ward! (His name is Tofu). There is a Hong family, the mom makes bags, book cases, blankets, she can do anything with a sewing machine and some fabric and her daughter paints, and speaks 4 different languages. They have TWO Japanese akitas. Man, I really love this place.

And by the time I am finished in serving Bade I will exceed proficiency in map reading and biking up hills...💃

 Happy December!

FRUIT MILK

If you have ever poured yourself a bowl of fruity pebbles and then eaten all the cereal, the milk that you are left with after all the fruity pebbles are gone is what this Fruit Milk taste like..I don't know why it is yellow though.

WEEKLY UPDATE: Ohhhh transfers...

First of all, A HUGE MAHALO NUI LOA to ALLL MY OHANA BACK HOME!! THANK YOU FOR ALL THE BIRTHDAY WISHES, LI HING MUI CANDIES, AND FOR HELPING PUT TOGETHER A SUPER CUTE BIRTHDAY BOOK! I am so blessed to have so many wonderful people in my life. ðŸ˜„

For Sister Wong's last P-day here in Bade we biked 2 and a half hours to eat some frozen yogurt and play at the beach. (Nothing has ever made me more grateful for living just a two minute walk away from the beach.) Regardless of the distance, it was the perfect way to end an awesome transfer! Sister Wong moved and now I have a NEW COMPANION! Sister Eyre from Irvine, California. She's 19 years old and LOVES CHOCOLATE. I am excited to be here in Bade serving with her.
Meet Sister Eyre and our investigators.
This past Sunday was Stake Conference. What made it really special was we had the Asia Area Presidency (Elder Wong) along with our Mission President in attendance. They announced that this upcoming year they are looking forward to splitting the stake. They also talked about chopsticks and members. You can't eat rice with just one chopstick, (unless it is a really sticky rice ball) you need both sticks working together. Just like this work. Missionaries CAN NOT do this work alone. THEY NEED MEMBERS. So all you people reading this, go help the missionaries! And those missionaries reading this, build a relationship with your members! Another thing that made Stake Conference pretty special was that two of our investigators came! One actually drove us and took us to lunch after! So that was cool.

I have been looking forward to this transfer since the start of my mission.I am in the greatest place with the most amazing people! And, this transfer has Thanksgiving AND Christmas in it!  All of our baptismal date investigators are on date for  December 24th, Christmas Eve! This transfer is going to be SWEET!!🙋

And to end this email on and even SWEETER note, Because I have such an  AMAZING Ohana it makes me so grateful for the Plan of Happiness that Heavenly Father has provided for us. Please watch this video about families. It is one of my favorites! And then after you watch it, go hug your family and tell them you LOVE them!
