This week was a very wet week. It rained, it poured, and it stayed about 10 degrees Celsius for the majority of the week. Regardless, it was a pretty awesome week. We were able to help a less active remember exactly why she joined the church in the first place and help her to find her testimony again. Her story is actually pretty cool and her son is now our Elder's investigator.
Taiwanese people do not like the rain. They believe that if you don't cover your head when it is raining then slowly your hair will fall out. (The rain here is pretty dirty)They will do anything not to get wet. So when they see us missionaries riding our bikes in the rain they willingly take us to a 7-11 and buy us a poncho or raincoat or give us their umbrella. Although most people we talk to are Buddhist and usually are not interested in talking to us, they do have a soft spot for helping us out.....
As I am sitting here in the internet cafe typing this email and half listening to the Britney Spears that they are blasting from the front counter, I can't help thinking about how grateful I am for our Heeavenly Father. He knows us. He loves us. He has a plan for each and every one of us. And although we may not know what exactly that plan for us is right now, we know that it is good. I am so thankful for this opportunity to be here serving a mission. I am grateful for all the love and support from family and friends. I am grateful for this Gospel of Jesus Christ and His atonement. It allows us to change, repent, and be better. Well….I'm sure the weather is super nice back home! (Mom, I saw the pictures from the hiking that you all did.....) Until next week!!!
