OH my heavens, this week was SO GOOD! So many things to do, so little time....
On P-day we went to Costco AND, funny story, on our way to the isle with the oatmeal, two very old men stop us and ask what church we were from. We share with them a short message, hand
them a tract, and then one of them turns to my companion and (in english) asks about where she's from and if she wanted to accompany him to the Hot Springs some time. These are his: "You and me, hot springs, for free! because I have a card." (He has some kind of disability card that allows him these privileges.) Well, my companion turned down this offer BUT she did invite him to come to church on Sunday. He gave us his number and off he went to buy some
probiotics.
Saturday night we went knocking on some random street by the church. We felt that we should go there. No idea why. We knocked on the first few houses and rang the first 10 doorbells and they all said the same thing, "Bu fangbian, xie xie" (Right now is not convenient, thank you) We come to this one door and we knock. An old lady asnwers. We introduce ourselves, "Ni hao! Women shi yesu jidu houqi shengtu jiaohui de chuanjiaoshi jie mei." She, looks at us, looks back into her house, looks back at us again and zeros in on our name tags and then, "Oh!" she exclaims, "I have something to give to you!" and she slowly makes her way into her house, grabs the thing, makes her way back to us, and with a smile and a "xie xie" hands us a (still looks new) Book of Mormon, she bids us "Wan an." and closes her door...and my companion and I just stand there...confused.....it was pretty dang funny.
Before I go, I want to leave you all with an invite, to read Doctrine and Covenants 1:18-30. I LOVE YOU ALL! I LOVE this gospel! I LOVE being in Taiwan! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE my mission!

18 And also gave commandments to others, that they should proclaim these things unto the world; and all this that it might be fulfilled, which was written by the prophets—
19 The a weak things of the world shall come forth and break down the mighty and strong ones, that man b should not counsel his fellow man, neither c trust in the arm of flesh—
20 But that every man might a speak in the name of God the Lord, even the Savior of the world;
22 That mine everlasting a covenant might be established;
23 That the a fulness of my b gospel might be c proclaimedby the d weak and the simple unto the ends of the world, and before e kings and f rulers.
24 Behold, I am God and have spoken it; these a commandments are of me, and were given unto my servants in their weakness, after the manner of their b language, that they might come to c understanding.
25 And inasmuch as they a erred it might be made known;
26 And inasmuch as they sought a wisdom they might be b instructed;
28 And inasmuch as they were a humble they might be made strong, and blessed from on high, and receive b knowledge from time to time.
29 And after having received the record of the Nephites, yea, even my servant Joseph Smith, Jun., might have power to a translate through the b mercy of God, by the power of God, the c Book of Mormon.
30 And also those to whom these commandments were given, might have a power to lay the foundation of this b church, and to bring it forth out of obscurity and out of c darkness, the only true and living d church upon the face of the whole earth, with which I, the Lord, am well e pleased, f speaking unto the church collectively and not individually—
