WEEKLY UPDATE -- Moon cakes and gigantic grapefruit.....HAPPY MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL!!

God was wayyy too good to us this week. First off, my companion and I were able to get 8 investigators to sacrament meeting this week! WOOT! We had investigator lessons scheduled basically every hour of every day this week. We were able to visit with all of the members in our ward AND now we have a fridge full of bread, moon cakes and gigantic grapefruit!

This week, with the little finding time that we had, we decided to have fun with it. Since my companion and I cannot WAIT for Christmas, we decided to go caroling. We would knock on a door, ask if we could sing them a hymn, bear testimony of this gospel and ask them if we could come in and share a short message with them. There is something about music that makes people feel....for real though, music is a super power! We got 3 sick new investigators!

On Friday, our home phone just would not work. Our mission office gave us a new phone to see if that would fix the problem. Nope. Still not working. My companion used our cell phone to call the Mission office for a repair man. They said the repair man wouldn't be able to come until next week So I decided to check it out myself. (Dad, I think you'll be happy to hear this next part) With a pair of pliers and some electrical tape, a little bit of clipping and then some stripping, I was able to get our land line working again! :D

I think, the coolest thing that happened this week was that we were able to visit with the members of our ward. There are some really cool people in our ward! Recently our Mission President has been emphasizing the importance of member referrals. Now, the members here in Taiwan have often been asked by missionaries if they have any friends that would like to take the missionary lessons. So my companion and I decided to take a different approach. One thing about Taiwan, people do not know who their neighbors are. SO, when we go to visit members, we dont just sit down in the comfort of their living room and talk about how great this Gospel is BUT we ask them if we can meet them outside of their house and, with them, go together and knock on some of their neighbors doors. This has been the best way we have been able to help the members get excited about missionary work. We went with one member family (The Lin Family) and we knocked on their upstairs neighbor door, little unbeknownst to us all, their upstairs neighbor is actually a Less Active in our ward who had not gone to church in over 20 years because she did not feel like she knew anybody. Guys, get to know your neighbors.

Well, that's all for this week. Thanks fam for all the words of encouragement! It's been almost 9 months! Crazy stuff!! :)
 Love you guys!!!
