WEEKLY UPDATE-- HAPPY NEW YEAR!

It's 2017 and Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is all the rage here in Taiwan! (Don't ask me why, but it's an actual thing)
the

It's a new month, it's a new year, and you know what that means?!?! TRANSFERS!! Happy to say I DIDN'T get transferred! Sister Eyre and I are still in Bade! I have to say though, January is the most dangerous time to be proselyting in Taiwan BECAUSE people are barbecuing and partying it up everywhere! (January is the month of Chinese New Year) Whenever we are out finding there are people inviting us to barbecue with the on the left side of the street and people offering us egg tarts and cake on the right side.....

Friends from BYUH all reunited in Taiwan!
Because it is a new year, it is time to take the clay ball of knowledge we have now and ADD MORE CLAY! Not even a week into this new year and I feel like my clay ball is now the size of a large boulder. Haha. We have had a lot of interesting lessons this week. One of them was with our investigator Tony and his wife. (He is Chinese but prefers to speak English) He is a devout Christian and reads the Bible every day. He agreed to meet with us because he is interested in helping us teach our English class. He is also a part of a House Church Movement that he was hoping to advertise to our english class students. As we listened to him talk about how the Bible gave him God's power and authoirty to help people start churches in their homes we decided to share with him the Restoration and Joseph Smith….

We met with another investigator named DoDo. Her family are all farmers and they grow sweet potato. She firmly believes in God. Infact, she believes in EVERY GOD. She also believes that her parents are gods too. We decided to share with her about the Godhead...at the end of these lessons the outcome was pretty much the same. They were not humble enough to want to listen to our message but they added me on LINE and said that they would LOVE to come to our church activities!

We have realized that humility is extremely necessary in order to have the spirit. It is especially important if we want our investigators to be taught by the spirit... If we are not humble we miss that opportunity. Anyway, I hope everyone had a WONDERFUL NEW YEAR'S EVE! SEE Y'ALL REALL SOON!! (I hit my year mark this week :) :) )
